The calculator and comparer

The numbers you type into the calculator and offer comparer are worked out in your browser, or on our server from the page address when JavaScript is off. They are not stored. They appear in the page address, so a link you share carries them.

The bid request form

The bid request form collects your name, company, email, phone, pickup address, the material and quantity, your timing, your notes and whether you agree to text messages. When you send it, these details are passed through a lead-routing service to buyers who bid on the material, so they can contact you about this request. The form also sends the page you came from, any campaign tags in the link that brought you here, your IP address and your browser's user agent, which are used to route requests and limit abuse.

Text messages are sent only if you tick the consent box, and you can reply STOP to opt out.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts or analytics. It keeps the page you landed on and any campaign tags in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, so a bid request can say how you found the site.
